Game of the Day (Feb 19): Dennis FC vs Octagon FC

Dennis have been much improved of late and today couldn’t have showcased it any more. In this match their heads could easily have dropped after being 2 goals behind on two separate occasions. But they have a never-say-die attitude that makes them able to go toe-to-toe with anyone. Octagon have been the class of the league so far; each week being able to field a strong side. Today they rotated some of their squad but had strong players to come in.  All 3 points should have been theirs but for a last minute goal from the never-say-never Dennis FC.

Game of the Day (Feb 12): Dennis FC vs Pujara Pals

This game was one for the neutrals with good quality on display
from both sides. Pujara definitely had the better of the first half but managed
to somehow let Dennis be level at half time. Pujara started the second
half again strongly but couldn’t finish their chances. As Pujara
pushed forward in ever greater numbers, gaps at the back started to
appear and Dennis snapped at the chance and scored a break-away goal.
This turned the game in to a frantic affair with both sides having
gilt-edge chances. But it was Dennis who again scored against the run
of play with a lightning  counter-attack to wrap up a famous win.

Game of the day (Jan 29): Octogan vs Pujara

What an excellent match to watch, a high quality game which was end-to-end for the full 40 minutes. Octagon started the stronger of the two teams and were rewarded with an early goal.

After a slow first few minutes Pujara began to kick into gear, creating a flurry of chances which included two efforts that hit the post. Octagon managed the game well after and made it to the half with their one nil lead intact.

However after a few more chances were created by Pujara the continued pressure led to the equaliser. 1-1 not long after became 2-1 to Octagon who had 6-7 minutes to hold out.

One of the best games we’ve seen in the lunchtime leagues, with 2 really good teams cancelling each other out. Hopefully we see more games of this quality across the season.’
